One AV Girl Scout’s Voice Sends a Clean & Clear Message

Keep our Desert Beautiful.

A large-scale clean-up event took place yesterday – a team endeavor with the City of Lancaster and Waste Management.

All was accomplished because of an account by a local junior girl scout at a DEHSART event –  in attendance with her troop and first of 50 girls to speak up about an illegal dumpsite near her home.

Three roll-offs were filled with 28.81 tons of green waste, bulky items, remodeling refuse, and household trash creating a clean slate for stewardship.

Troop #3362 enthusiastically continued the clean-up yesterday afternoon and hopes to encourage others to do the same.

Stay tuned for the implementation of the first DEHSART clean-up station at the site!

Thank you to the Antelope Valley Illegal Dumping Task Force and partners for amplifying one young girl’s voice for the good of our desert community!
